July 8: Meals on Wheels craft
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
At Marvin UMC our goal is to partner with parents to help raise their children to love God and to have mission hearts. Check the monthly Messenger for a list of topics covered each Sunday in Sunday School, as well as the lessons to continue at home. Together we can provide a foundation for the acceptance and knowledge of Jesus Christ that leads to life eternal.
In addition to lessons about God, we offer numerous hand’s on opportunities for your children to live out their faith such as raising money for children's homes, collecting canned soup for the food bank or collecting pencils for PATH. Whether it is a Sunday morning or a Wednesday night, we are dedicated to communicating God’s love for the children of Marvin.

Camp EDGE Vacation Bible School week was awesome thanks to 203 campers. We collected 65 bottles of sunscreen, 58 bottles of bug spray, 67 flashlights and 44 beach towels for the Salvation Army kids’ camp. We also raised enough money to send two kids to camp for a week.

Want the most fulfilling job in the world? Work with children on Sunday mornings! We need volunteers to teach, aid and shepherd for the fall ‘09 through spring ‘10 school year. Most opportunities are on a rotating schedule which allows teachers to attend adult classes regularly.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact the children’s office.
The goal of the nursery program in our church is to provide God’s children with a loving, secure environment in the faith community and to provide parents with the opportunity to worship, study and serve God with peace of mind.
On Sunday we offer nurseries for the 8:45 and 11 o'clock worship services and any evening services. Nursery is provided for infants - 4K. During Sunday School (9:45–10:40 a.m.) nurseries are available for infants through older toddlers.
Nursery service is provided throughout the week as requested for various church activities such as Bible studies, meetings and seminars.
In order to provide the best care for Marvin’s children, we require that parents assist in the nursery once a quarter. Upon regular use of the nursery, parents will be added to a rotating volunteer schedule sent in the mail. If you are not a parent of a young child but would like to volunteer, please call or e-mail Shannon Pogue (903.510.8312).
Children's Sunday School classes meet from 9:45 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. There are classes and programs for all ages. Click here for a list of classes.
