After meeting weekly for three months and hosting a job search seminar, the Job Care Ministry has now entered a “second phase” of ministry. Due to the good news of lower attendance (due to recent employment), the ministry will cease meeting weekly until another group emerges that would benefit from weekly meetings.

Of the eight regular attendees, five have now found employment! That is something to celebrate. We want to remain aware, however, that others may still be losing jobs while others remain either underemployed or unemployed. Because of this, the ministry will continue in the following way:

• The library will house Job Care resources (helpful books and Power Point presentations from our Job Search Seminar) for on-location use.
• Church member Floyd Brumby has agreed to meet individually with any person seeking guidance with their job search efforts. He has helped several with job search skills.

If anyone is interested in participating in Job Care weekly meetings, please contact Regina Childress or call the church office (903.592.7396). Once we have gathered a core group, we will explore starting another group.

Over the past three months, the Job Care Ministry touched the lives of 21 people.More than 15 people supported this ministry through various means including baking refreshments for the meetings, doing presentations, providing articles for the resource book and posting job openings.
