OUR MISSION

Since 1988, Marvin members and friends roll up their sleeves and volunteer for Mission Week. People of all ages and all skill levels, from professional carpenters and electricians to those who have never hammered a nail, work together to work miracles in a one-week time frame. Mission Week includes more than 500 volunteers working on community projects.

Mission Week is one of the foundations for Marvin's Christian outreach and service. Participants of all ages experience a wide variety of "hands-on" missions during the week, from construction projects to a neighborhood festival. Mission Week provides fun and meaningful opportunities for service!

There's a place for everyone, whether it's doing yard work, carpentry work, taking pictures or cooking and serving meals.

OUR THEME

Faith in Action!

HOW FAMILIES ARE SELECTED

Requests are submitted to the Marvin Missions Office all during the year. In the spring, the Selection and Family Nurture Committee goes through the requests, sets up home visits and goes through extensive guideline questions to find out more about the families and their needs. This committee’s role is to select families and projects that will be positive experiences for the clients and for our volunteers. The Project Planning Committee looks over the needs of each site, prioritizes needs and outlines the scope of each project.
