Come worship in an intimate theater space, the venue for modern worship at Marvin UMC.
The worship gathering in Herd Auditorium strives to share the message of Christ using many forms of media. Two worship times are offered in our small theater,a friendly, casual place for people to share faith in Christ. Although our form is contemporary, we believe that music, like all art, is neither sacred nor secular, but should be directed to God in response to the work of Christ in our lives.
We believe that it is our job, calling and privilege to be accompanists to the worship choir, that is, to the church. We play and sing in such a manner that both leads and gets out of the way of worshiping. And although the quality of the music is extremely important to us, we are equally concerned with becoming the kinds of people whose lives glorify God. We aspire to be a team who lives what we sing.
Worship is an activity of the heart. Words, songs and actions are simply expressions.
I waited and waited and waited for GOD. At last he looked; finally he listened.
He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up
on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn't slip. He taught me how to sing
the latest God-song, a praise-song to our God. More and more people
are seeing this: they enter the mystery, abandoning themselves to God.
